And probably a couple of others. I need to give Fleet Foxes’ new album about 10 more listens, because I still cannot form an opinion at all after two listens. Shit be dense. If you’re into chilller dubstep/postdubstep, definitely check out James Blake, Burial and Desolate, those are all pretty great. The Colin Stetson is a bit more experimental jazzy dark ambient sort of hard to explain, but it’s quite good, if you can find it definitely pick it up.

I’ll be back to you soon tumblr. I have exams this week, then I’m back to the states. I’m planning on spending almost my entire summer researching and listening to music, and (re)reading the classics as well as some poetry books I’ve bought. Hopefully I’ll have some new interesting stuff to post, and may try to branch out my tumblr a little bit to include bits of writing and philosophy. I swear on everything that this isn’t a bullshit contest to gain followers. I’ve been wanting an SLR forever and I ended up getting two. One from my cousin, and the other from my mom. I was thinking about returning/selling my second one, but I wouldn’t be getting the same amount or more than what it was originally priced. I’ve already talked to my mom about me giving it away, she doesn’t mind. But besides all this, who the hell doesn’t like free stuff?

Here’s how this will work:

You do not have to follow me. I don’t want any followers that don’t actually like my blog. I do ask of you to kindly check out my blog though. If you like it cool, if not, run along now.

Likes do not count for anything, only reblogs will count. You can reblog this as many times as you’d like.

Winner will be chosen like as if it were a raffle drawing.

Ahh sorry if this is an old question, I just checked my tumblr for the first time in a while. Okay, well personally, I think that Sonic Youth had a stream of perfection with EVOL, Sister, Daydream Nation and Goo. I see absolutely nothing wrong with any of those albums, and of those EVOL is probably my favorite. However, Sonic Nurse is also an excellent album. And if you want something on the noisier side, I do really like Confusion is Sex. Yet truly those four I mentioned before are their best, in my humble opinion.

Fuckin’ hell, I’ve been busy tumblr. Been barely listening to music. I’m switching my major from Global Liberal Studies (biggest joke waste of time and money shit ever) to Physics, so I’ve been doing research and getting psyched on that, and I’ve really only been listening to Janelle Monae or Odd Future. However, I’m back home for my Spring Break (which I’m kind of regretting, I get to see my sister and visit my friend in Syracuse, but I feel weird being home again.) and as a result I got my Wild Nothing shirt that I had ordered to ship to Florida and all but forgot about! Woo! Okay now goodbye I’m going to go fiddle around with my 3DS and probably just play Pokemon all day.

Oh man, well both are amazing. Lifted is phenomenal, and really captures a true Conor Oberst sound (maybe not as much as some other albums, but Lifted is much closer to a typical Bright Eyes album in theme and sound than I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning), though IWAIM is tied for my favorite album of all time with Wilco’s Summerteeth. If it’s your first foray into Bright Eyes, download both, but give I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning a few good listens before touching Lifted. They’re both nearly equally incredible though.

Today has just been the shittiest day for me and everyone around me. My parents found out I smoke (which I guess wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but still sucks), one friend got dumped, another friend got her wallet stolen, yet another friend is fighting with her family, and just everyone else had a bad day. Fuck today.

(On the plus side I got a cool book on the history of noise music, but it cost 17 pounds, so still fml even though I’m psyched to read it.)

Been diggin’ this song hard the past few days.

The first track is so good, and the next song very prominently features Kevin Barnes as does Water Dripping on Bread Makes It Taste Not So Tasty. Also, Madame Truffle features Jeff Mangum in what I believe is his best song.

If you haven't listened to Olivia Tremor Control yet, they're basically Major Organ with a pop sensibility--so basically catchier songs and more of them, but plenty of experimentation and sound collages. If you are a fan of early of Montreal, check out Marshmallow Coast (it also feature Kevin prominently). Marshmallow Coast (or M. Coast) is the side project of founding oM member David Gonzales. It's a twee-er of Montreal, basically. If you check them out, get Seniors and Juniors.

Also, if you end up really liking Major Organ, check out The Music Tapes. That's Julian Koster's band, and that's definitely my favorite E6 band.

And please tell me what you think of the Major Organ movie, I need to know if it's worthy buying or not. I've been debating it for awhile.

I actually have never gotten around to listening to any Olivia Tremor Control, even when going through my more major Elephant 6 phase, so I suppose I should get on that, haha. I definitely check all of this out, thanks! I’ll get back to you on the Major Organ movie, I’m probably going to watch it tomorrow if it’s rainy.
